Joe Wolter Clinic September 21-23, 2012 Colt Starting, Horsemanship, Cow Working & Roping
Colt Starting -------Morning-------------- $450 $15/day cattle charge for cow working
Growing up in Grass Valley, CA, Joe grew up loving horses, but his family didn't have a ranch, he discovered a Thoroughbred farm next door to the local grammar school. He spent time there cleaning stalls and helping with the breeding. After high school, he got a job on a ranch in Nevada, soon leaving there to work for Ray Hunt on another ranch. He wanted to learn, watching Ray and seeing what he could get done, and how horses acted around him. He knew that in other places, peoples answer for a horse problem was to get more people. He spent as much time as possible with Ray and Bill Dorrance. Joe's horsemanship clinics are designed to create a comfortable environment where people feel confident to try new things and expand their skill level with their horses. Clinic sessions include tarting, cow working and horsemanship.

Horsemanship May 12, 13 & 14th -2012 Lee Smith is a gifted and eloquent teacher who tells her students, "Don't simply focus on doing what I do, learn what I see." She conducts clinics around the country, where she shares what she sees as if speaking for the horse and thus providing her students with the opportunity to observe the exchange of communication between horse and human. Her first teacher was Ray Hunt, who gave her the foundation for everything she does with horses today. She emphasizes communication with your horse without fear or force, to establish a willing partnership rather than resistance. The goal is a horse that is soft, gentle and responsive and moves smoothly and relaxed in every situation. Learn the essential elements of good horsemanship. Lee Smith Clinic
